The hot spots wine bars where I - Karina Imschoot expert Piedmontese wines - hang out on a regular basis when I visit Turin
In the capital of wine connoisseurs Turin, there is indeed plenty of choice, also here between wine bars/wine cellars with an old-fashioned atmosphere and young establishments that often retain the atmosphere of a 'piola' (a simple wine bar). Excellent wines therefore, and more than interesting cuisine (in some cases 'cold', but of great depth). Here are the best wine bars (and more) in Turin.
Where to drink in Turin.
Banco Vini e Alimenti
This offshoot of the multi-award-winning Consorzio (Tre Gamberi in the guide Ristoranti d'Italia 2025) continues to reap success thanks to an informal formula, a warm atmosphere and a wine list with several gems, especially organic wines. There is also beer and spirits, and for nibbling (there is no kitchen) there are nachos with spicy red sauce, anchovies with whipped butter and crostini, pickled vegetables, high-quality meats and cheese. Open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Luogo Di Vino Wine Bistrot.
Autumn 2023 saw the addition of the Social Wine Club, the "alter ego" opened right across from the main office (via Maria Vittoria 30) with a simpler offering of tapas, platters and various snacks
tastings, always accompanied by excellent wines (open all summer, by the way). Luogo Divino remains a great place for lovers and for those who want to spend a pleasant evening with excellent wines and carefully prepared dishes. The wine cellar is an extensive collection of bottles, ranging from Piedmont to the rest of the world, and the cuisine is fresh, inspiring, international.
Madama Piola Vini e Piattini
Madama Piola's little brother in Via Ormea (one of the city's cult spots for bollito), unlike its parent company, offers small dishes paired with a carefully selected wine list. A modern piola, open from 6 p.m., where the menu offers classics such as plin, tonnato and anchovies in green sauce, and various delicacies such as liver mousse with toasted brioche bread or bonbons of pork cheek with hazelnut mayonnaise

Magazzino 52
The parade of bottles on the shelves - which are also for sale - is just the first impression. You have to look at the labels to realize you are in one of the city's most inspiring wine bars. This former bar, which has undergone a true renaissance, has earned a fine reputation with a selection of wines from France and Italy (but, of course, not only there) that charm the curious, enthusiasts and many experts. Other assets are the refined but friendly atmosphere and a regularly changing menu that you can compose according to your appetite and appetite, complementing it with a cheese tasting and dessert. The cuisine, Italian, Piedmontese and Mediterranean, depending on the season and market, knows how to intrigue. Motivated and committed staff.

Enoteca Mastrovino
One of the most appreciated wine bars in the area, with a very interesting takeaway on all fronts. There are good mixed drinks and tasty snacks to eat with the wine if you come for an aperitif, such as cold cuts, cheese, stuffed focaccias, etc. Comfortable atmosphere, competent and helpful staff.

Caffè dell'Orologio.
Although the name suggests a bar, it is a beloved wine bar/osteria - also known as "la piola di San Salvario" - with an atmosphere reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. The selection of wines, by the glass, is not large but carefully curated, with an emphasis on natural wines, and is offered at fair prices. You can eat and drink there every day from 12:30 to 2:30 and from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. On the table are small dishes for a "merenda sinoira" (prepared by Elisabetta Desana, former Scannabue and Rossorubino), complemented by an extra of the day.

ORMA
In the Vanchiglia neighborhood is a modern wine bar that opened a few years ago and has quickly become a household name in the neighborhood. Intimate bistro atmosphere with walls full of bottles, Italian and foreign, with many natural labels, and to nibble a selection of cheeses, tapas (called "sciocchezze" here) such as the sandwich with shank, carrot salad, celery and cedar and "serious" dishes and not common dishes .

Caffè-Vini Emilio Ranzini
A cult spot in the city, where everyone comes from time to time and where every generation is welcome in a small room with a counter, a blackboard, a few tables and a small summer terrace. It is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and is frequented for a glass of red wine, a sandwich of butter and anchovies, as well as for the merenda sinoira, an early evening meal. At that hour you can fill your belly with anchovies in green sauce, tomini, sausage, sole, vitello tonnato, hard-boiled eggs and "friciulin."

Rossorubino
"In bolla dal 2003" (in the clouds since 2003), as they describe themselves, is a now highly renowned downtown wine bar/wine cellar with an impressive selection of wines (from Piedmont and other countries) and a menu that changes regularly and is suitable for lunch, snacks, aperitifs and dinner (15, 25 and 35 euros for one, two and three courses, respectively): vitello tonnato, foie gras sandwich with caramelized onion, bread with butter and anchovies, "schiciole" and pucce with different fillings and dishes such as agnolotti Castelmagno and hazelnuts. Watch for events and tastings on the calendar.

Sorso
Andrea (in the kitchen) and Veronica (great wine expert in the room), after a past in the hospitality industry, have opened a "nest" in the center in 2022 that is totally in their style. A bar à vin, as it says on the sign, for a relaxed but substantive visit thanks to the knowledge of the owner, who loves to talk about the artisan winemakers she has included in her personal selection. Meanwhile, Andrea prepares ever-changing appetizers, also vegetarian, ideal for a snack, aperitif or dinner, in complete freedom.
