PARIDE CHIOVINI

Paride Chiovini has been producing wines since 1997 that present the ancient agricultural tradition of the Alto Piedmont.

The winery is located in the municipality of Sizzano, in the area known as Colline Novaresi, an area with indigenous DOC and DOCG vines and where viticulture has ancient traditions. Sizzano is a small town of very ancient origins and lies at the foot of the Colline Novaresi in Alto Piemonte.

The winery is the beating heart of the company, where the wine rests, changes and evolves. The vineyards between Sizzano and Ghemme are divided into the indigenous varieties Nebbiolo (the local name is Spanna), Vespolina (also known as Ughetta) and Uva Rara (also known as Bonarda Novarese).

The individual grape varieties are vinified separately to differentiate their quality and bring out their special characteristics.

The vinification cellar currently has a capacity of 250 hl, equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After the renovation, there is a bottling room and an aging room with oak barrels of 225 l and 500 l, where the long-life wines rest.

The vinification process is rigorous and uses advanced technology. The large oak barrels preserve the red wines for at least 18 months, enhancing their aromas, flavors and aromas, which are then refined with a minimum bottle aging of 6 months. The result of so much care are quality wines, for connoisseurs of fine drinking, outside the fashion and schemes of mass standardization.

There are five hectares on the estate, three of them with vines, managed between Sizzano and Ghemme according to the management techniques laid down in the production rules of the: Sizzano DOC, Colline Novaresi DOC and DOCG and by the European regulation of integrated pest control with respect for the environment.

Sizzano viticulture is developed on the eastern slope of the Sesia Valley, a long hill stretching along a north-south axis, a predominantly clayey plateau divided into two hilly strips.

Sizzano wine owes its fame to the great Piedmontese statesman Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, and great wine connoisseur, who compared Sizzano DOC to the great wines of Burgundy.

In addition to the Sizzano Doc wine, Paride also produces Ghemme DOCG, a Nebbiolo being Priamo, an Uva namely Briseide, a Vespolina named Afrodite, a white Erbaluce wine Athena and a rosé wine Eros. All are the gems of a small but tremendously qualitative winery that shows unlimited passion and dynamism to always charm wine lovers year after year.
