I was not there "live" but followed everything closely. You couldn't miss it: the presence of no and low alcohol, spirits à gogo, artisanal beer. In concrete terms: they focused on the future of wine among the young public, who consume less, but are more conscious of alcohol. There was also a lot of focus on "wine communication", with a young group of producers and an equally young group of "wine influencers". Keywords: innovation, sustainability, storytelling.

But - and this is no joke - the presence at Vinitaly of the custom-made mini-de-alkalcoholizers for laboratory use, to test the technology and the no-low effect on their own wines had more than meets the eye. If only for the sake of curiosity.

The Italian industry is on the move, laying out its national roadmap, in part to meet the needs of small and medium-sized companies that currently cannot or do not want to risk investing large sums of money in de-alkalization facilities and prefer to explore and experiment in the market, based on the most modern technologies available.

The Vason Group, one of the largest Italian players in the wine-making machinery sector, has developed a mini-de-alkoholizer capable of de-alkoholizing small volumes in a controlled manner, but with a quality identical to that of industrial processes.

A laboratory unit that mimics the process of the industrial de-alkoholizing machine, developed by the Verona-based group, operating at ambient temperature and pressure, allowing delicate de-alkoholization. This is a particularly interesting solution for those still in a phase of analysis and evaluation, both of the market and of the product to be offered.

Italy is still in year zero for production

Albano Vason, who is analyzing the market of this new category in Italy, does not hide the delays incurred, partly because of a Masaf-Mef decree on excise duties that has taken too long.

. "In terms of production, we are still in our infancy," he explains, "and wineries must first of all identify demand and understand how to translate it into their labels, and then express it in the bottle. This process requires study, research and experimentation. This is why the VasonGroup offer the opportunity to take advantage of the very latest technology, with an investment that is very affordable even for small and medium-sized companies."

At Vinitaly on April 14 (at 2 p.m.) in the NoLo Vinitaly Experience space, the program included a workshop organized by VasonGroup dedicated to Dealcolazione: technology and approach of VasonGroup between experiences and practical applications.
