  • Soil: clayey and low calcareous, moderately sandy, rich in manganese and magnesium

In the vineyard

  • Growing system: Guyot
  • Fertilizers: manure and green manure
  • Soil management: hoeing and mowing under the rows
  • Harvest: manually in 20 kg boxes; October
  • Yield per hectare: 45 hl/ha

In the cellar

  • Fermentation: in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with skin soaking for about 20 days. Malolactic fermentation in wood.
  • Aging: 24 months in Slavonian and French oak barrels of 25 hl.

Organoleptic characteristics

  • Color: intense garnet red with brick red reflections
  • Bouquet: brushwood, sage, wild berries and a delicate touch of leather.
  • Palate: full-bodied with notes of cinnamon, licorice, cherries on alcohol and raspberry compote. The tannins are silky and very supple.

Evolution and combinations

  • Evolution: comes into its own even after 20 years and more
  • Combinations: game and red meat, aged hard cheeses, dishes enriched with white truffle from Alba.
