Centovigne's early history dates back to 1682, when the first barrels of wine were produced at the Castellengo Castle. With this in-depth knowledge of history, the owners Alessandro and Magda, who also fulfill the role of winemaker and viticulturist, have introduced a style of viticulture with a holistic approach of targeted interventions that maintain the health of the high-acid soil. The goal is to encourage the growth of native vegetation and promote the growth of soil biodiversity.
The castle walls of Castello di Castellengo continue to welcome new generations of winemakers as a guarantee of the continuity of Nebbiolo quality in northern Piedmont. The history of the site has shaped the passion of the winemakers and it embraces the unique richness of the land. The ancient vines of the area grow among archaeological sites and artifacts buried in the sea sand, drab and sandy clay soil. And the castle's cellars, like many others in the area, have housed wineries for centuries.
The unique flavor and irresistible elegance and minerality of the wines of Centovigne and Castellengo Castle has always been and will continue to be preserved.
