Molinetto

Molinetto Winery is an oenological gem in the Gavi area, with 8 hectares of vineyard planted with the Cortese grape. Located in Francavilla Bisio and Tassarolo, where the Piedmont hills meet the sea breeze, Molinetto Carrea bases its production on the prestigious Gavi DOCG. Soft, fruity and elegant, this fragrant white wine is made from 100% Cortese grapes. Molinetto Winery is part of the prestigious Consorzio Tutela del Gavi and is a member of FIVI - Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti.

The Molinetto Winery is currently run by its youngest son, Diego Carrea:

Graduated in Electrical Engineering and Executive MBA, computer expert first in Genoa, then consultant in Milan. Of course, as with any winery, training in enology is present.

Until October 2008, when Diego decided to choose the "road less traveled," to listen to his own "deep roots": coming back home to continue the family winery started by his father Matteo and by his uncle Domenico since 1990.His choice to work in the winery shows his love for the land that daily strengthens the ties with the winery's founders and renews the agricultural traditions of lower Piedmont.

The range consists of 5 brands of wines made from 100% Cortese grapes: 1.Gavi, aged in stainless steel; 2.Re-Lys Gavi partially refined in oak barrels; 3.Gavi Metodo Classico; 4.Amphora white wine refined in amphora; 5.Orange white wine with maceration on the skins.

Piedmont is a land bordered by 11 municipalities between Liguria and Lombardy: it is a unique area thirty kilometers from the sea, a lower edge of the plain that rises to the hills and climbs the Ligurian Apennines.

This border area, suspended in time, an authentic landscape that alternates vineyards, forests, valleys and rolling hills, is the territory of the Gavi Denomination, a Cortese wine, the Great White Piedmontese wine.

Gavi Appellation

The Gavi Docg denomination covers all or part of the territory of 11 municipalities in the province of Alessandria: Bosio, Capriata d'Orba, Carrosio, Francavilla Bisio, Gavi, Novi Ligure, Parodi Ligure, Pasturana, San Cristoforo, Serravalle Scrivia, Tassarolo.
