AGGRESSIVENESS ATTACK IN THE VINEYARD OF CA DU FERRA ON GIUSEPPE LUCIANO AIETA, THE HUSBAND OF DAVIDE ZOPPI, GAY COUPLE
That Italy is still a country where lesbians and gays do not fit into the classic structure of Christian marriage male-female is actually what I have as a thought here.
When I lived in Barbaresco I also had one stunt after another happen to me, strange but true in Cherasco and Zoalengo, the other two residences in chronological order NEVER had any problems. I won't mention details, no aggression was involved but it was, to say the least, a humiliation of continuous sexual suggestions. The first two months, then the wave swept over.
The story of Giuseppe Luciano Aieta and Davide Zoppi does represent pure aggression and harassment and sounds like this:
"We are still in shock, but we are not giving up." Davide Zoppi 's words are steeped in dismay following the violent attack on her husband, Giuseppe Luciano Aieta, in the vineyards of the Cà du Ferrà estate, near La Spezia. What should have been a day dedicated to maintaining the vines of the multi-award-winning winery in Bonassola turned into a nightmare. While working in the company's highest vineyard, Aieta fell victim to a brutal attack that lasted several minutes.
"It all happened on Aug. 13 in our highest vineyard, 400 meters above the sea, where the Vermentino 'Luccicante' is grown," Zoppi told Gambero Rosso. "Giuseppe was preparing equipment for guests when he was attacked on the narrow path leading to the vineyard. He was beaten, threatened with a weapon, then held down and an attempt was made to rape him. Something we could never have imagined we would have to experience in our own country, among our hills."
The call on social media
The company, founded by the couple about 10 years ago - when they decided to leaveMilan to settle in the small center of Liguria's east coast - has quickly become a reference point in the Italian wine world. A project that transformed old, abandoned vineyards into a highly successful enterprise, but then faced pressure, threats and violent actions. Indeed, this was not an isolated incident, as stated in a post on social media. In an open letter to the community of Bonassola, the owners clearly state that they will not be intimidated and ask their fellow citizens not to remain indifferent.
"For more than a year and a half Giuseppe and I have been living in a heavy atmosphere characterized by pressure, resentment, persecution and attempts to discredit us personally and professionally. A climate that, without naming names, is known to many and that today provided the breeding ground for a cowardly and unacceptable act," the company's profiles read. "Those who choose cowardice and hatred have no place here. We are children of this region and will continue to cherish it and work with dignity and passion. Your solidarity gives us the strength to continue".
For the sake of the couple's privacy, I am not posting photos. Just put my photo, then. By the way, Gambero Rosso, the online news channel has already done that! I sent them an email as an importer of Piedmontese wines with the words at the end: Forza! Forza! Forza! Avanti! To be weak now is only to let the threatener be delighted with his action! Porca Miseria!
