Piedmont Wine Production in Figures

On the occasion of Nebbiolo Prima:  our facts and figures!  

In general production is increasing,  certainly for Barolo and Nebbiolo d'Alba.  All figures are in line with what is expected.   If you can resume in three important issues,  we need to stress the increasing importance of the Nebbiolo on the right side of the Tannaro River,  while Dolcetto and Barbera are taking a stap behind.   

10 wine labels have been examined being Barolo,  Barbaresco,  Dogliani, Diano d'Alba Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba,  Dolcetto d'Alba,  Verduno,  Alba,   Not reviewed are Roero Arneis, Roero Rosso and Moscato d'Asti.  Howvever, the production of these not reviewed wines is quite stable being 9.023  acres.  Dolcetto and Barbera are less produced as you are able to notice with 28 acres downgrade for 2014.   Special attention for the Barolo, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo vintages as these are increasing while Barbaresco is remaining at the same production level.   The Doc Langhe with 550.000 is increasing compairing to 2014 and the Langhe Nebbiolo is even taking 3.350.000 bottles for its accounts compaired to 20141 being 2.500.000.   The smallest in production is the Pelavergna of Verduno but this due to the fact that is contrary on the Doc Alba situation.   

Just one advice,  taste wines from Piedmont and discovery for yourself their increasing value.
