RoccheViberti

RoccheViberti
The winery ROCCHEVIBERTI is located in the municipality of CASTIGLIONE FALLETTO, in Rocche.
As soon as the visitor reaches the winery, the view is unique and beautiful: long terroirs of vineyard follow each other in perfect harmony in a vast and elegant rural landscape, enriched in the background by an imposing mountain range that surrounds the entire plain below.
A quality wine must represent the perfect symbiosis of vine, territory and tradition.
We add the passion with which the Viberti family, winemakers for many generations, have cultivated their vineyards. In the cellar, French oak barrels are used for ageing.
The company exclusively vinifies its own grapes in the quarries of old cellar traditions and with full respect for the raw material. It is precisely in the oak barrels and then in the bottle that the noble red wines of the ROCCHEVIBERTI winery rest and slowly develop delicate aromas or refine the fullness and sobriety of the flavors.
The long rest in the darkness and silence guarantees optimal conditions for the elaboration of elegant bouquets and velvety flavors. In the glass, the passionate consumer will pleasantly perceive colours, scents and flavours associated with a precise territorial identity: the Rocche hills in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and the prestigious territory of Langa.
We are in one of the most beautiful and interesting areas of the Langhe, in an area secularly suitable for viticulture: the Nebbioli of these hills have always been considered one of the best of the whole area of origin.
Currently the farm covers 4.5 hectares of specialized vineyards; we grow grapes of great value: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, all the native grapes of the Langhe and Piedmont.
Castiglione Falletto
within this "Cru" or Geographical Indication at an average altitude between 300 and 350 metres. are small and very steep vineyards. It is one of the smallest and most famous cru of the Barolo area.
It develops lengthwise on the side of a very steep hill with an east-south-east exposure. In the lower part of this strip, about 1.5 km long and 60/70 metres high on average, there is an abyss (Rocche) that reaches 150 metres in some places.
The soil is mainly calcareous and rich in sand and tuff. These characteristics give the wines elegance and unique and well-defined aromas, with soft tannins and a perfect balance. The vineyards have an average age of 40 years. Only Nebbiolo da Barolo can be found in this cru.
Bricco Boschis
It is a "Cru" of considerably larger dimensions, with a predominant exposure to the West and an altitude between 200 and 300 metres.
The soils are richer in clay than those of the Rocche di Castiglione. As a result, the Baroli have more important colours, structure and tannins. All this benefits the long life of the wine. Within the Bricco Boschis we have, in the highest part, vineyards of Nebbiolo da Barolo and part of Dolcetto d'Alba (Vigna Melera) and in the lowest part vineyards of Barbera d'Alba (Vigna Lunga) and part of Dolcetto d'Alba. The age of the Nebbiolo da Barolo vineyards is divided into: a smaller vineyard has plants of 35 years old, while the larger vineyard has plants of 5 years old. For Barbera and Dolcetto the age of the plants is 50 years.
