Rosé wine contest during Concours Mondial de Bruxelles

Rosé wine contest during Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
For the first time in its history, rosé wine will be at the centre of attention; in 2021, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will organise an early session devoted exclusively to this type of wine. The competition will take place in the spring, from 4 to 6 March in Abruzzo, in order to better respond to the needs of the market and consumers' growing interest in rosé wines. In this way,
The award-winning producers will already have the necessary promotion and marketing tools at their disposal when the wines are placed on the market. The expected session of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is held each year in a different wine-growing region, a platform for communication and meeting on rosé. An independent editorial team will regularly write and publish a series of articles on rosé wines from around the world.
Rosé, the new trend
Between 2002 and 2018, world consumption of rosé wine rose from 18.3 million hectolitres to 26 million, an increase of almost 40%. The countries of Western Europe and the United States are the largest consumers of rosé wine in the world. Given these figures, it is not surprising that the growth in consumption of still wines in 2018 is clearly driven by rosé. This trend coincides with the explosion in demand for millenials, which constitute an ever-growing customer base. In the United States, 80 million young adults have increased exports of French rosé by 30% in ten years.
The same trend in China, with more than 365 million millenials, imports twice as much rosé wine as ten years ago. Thanks to this enthusiasm and an increase in quality, rosé wines have emerged from the shadows of white and red wines. With this in mind, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles wishes to give rosé wines from all over the world the attention they deserve on the international scene.
What style of rosé?
The "Sélection Rosé" of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is open without distinction to all still, sparkling, sparkling and fortified rosé wines. The deadline for entry and dispatch of samples is 18 February 2021.
In addition to the traditional gold and silver medals, a special trophy will be awarded in the following categories:
Revelation Quiet rosé wine
Revelation Rosé sparkling wine
Revelation Semi-dry rosé wine
Revelation Sweet rosé wine
Revelation Organic rosé wine
The results of the competition will be published on 11 March 2021. For white and red wines, the tasting sessions of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will be held from 22 to 24 May 2021. Registrations will be extended until 18 March 2021.
