Report of Grandi Langhe en Visit of our exclusive Wineries

Report of Grandi Langhe en Visit of our exclusive Wineries
It is a tradition to tell the characters of the DOCG wines produced in Nebbiolo's Langa and Roero. On 1 January it was the turn of Barbaresco 2017 and Barolo 2016 to take their first steps on the market and on 1 July it was the turn of Roero 2018 and Roero Riserva 2017.
Barolo 2016 is a great wine, also quite long lasting, thanks to its full and decisive character. It seems almost perfect vintage, with a richness and structure that does not stand in the way of harmony. Intensive ruby is the color, quite impressive. Complex is the bouquet, with fruity and floral notes that stand out, making the ethereal and spicy notes barely stand out. Full strength and perseverance is the taste, of great satisfaction. In 2016, Barolo's viticultural potential was 2,112 hectares and the actual production of 14,039,461 bottles, in line with the previous vintage.
And let's highlight Barbaresco 2017: hot wine, immediately available and ready to drink, suitable for the party and toast without special ceremonies. This is confirmed by the characters, starting with the color between ruby and garnet, then the bouquet, spacious, richly fruity and floral, but already with ethereal and spicy notes well present. On the palate: harmony and elegance. The economic data relate to 759 hectares of vineyards and 4,213,585 bottles, 12% less than the previous year.
As for the Roero, we are talking about two vintages (2017 and 2018), very different from each other and with very different results in the vineyard and in the cellar. In the glass, the Riserva 2017 offers garnet colors with vague ruby red notes, ethereal, more evolved and spicy fruity aromas, followed by an intense and refined taste, with a tasty bitter aftertaste. Fresh and more fragrant Roero 2018, the result of a less aggressive and more varied vintage, prone to a certain elegance and excellent longevity. The production data of the Roero are preserved. In total there are about 200 hectares cultivated for a production of 450.000 to 500.000 bottles.
