Colour : Dogliani Superiore DOCG is ruby red in colour, with the violet tones of Dogliani giving way to a hint of garnet through ageing
Composition : 100% Dolcetto di Dogliani
Category : DOGLIANI DOCG
Dogliani Superiore is a D.O.C.G. wine made from pure Dolcetto grapes, from the oldest vineyards, whose average age is more than 25 years, in the areas where the variety and the soil allow maximum expression, also thanks to a maturation of at least 12 months.
The production area of Dogliani Superiore DOCG is located in southern Piedmont, in the lower part of the Langhe along the rivers that separate the plains from the hills, and originated in Roman or pre-Roman times. It owes its name to the municipality where in 1593 the first document was found mentioning the name of the Dolcetto vine.
Aroma : The nose offers fruity notes, berries and summery but vinous fruit such as cherries and blackcurrants.
Taste : The Dogliani Superiore has a nice elegance and drinkability on the palate, with a pleasant contrast between balsamic hints and a slightly almondy finish.
Dogliani Superiore DOCG retains the characteristic drinkability of the Dolcetto grape. It pairs well with tasty, well-structured dishes, Sunday dishes: lasagne, pasta with meat sauce, and continues its ideal marriage with main courses such as roast meat, but also stuffed vegetables or escalopes with mushrooms.
