Profile: Cascina Gavetta is one of the top small-scale producers in the region which is only normally distributed in Italy. Its wines are powerful pearls. The vineyard has an eastern to southeast exposition and the soil consists of lime and sand. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The maceration takes place at controlled temperature and lasts 3-4 days. The ripening process takes place in old French barriques for fifteen months. Production is 2500 bottles. This Barbera comes from the vineyard just next to Elvio Cogno. This wine is ideal with starters and pasta.
Aroma: violets and black cherries, this is "a wine with balls", a Barbera that is smooth, goes inside nicely, remember that this is also a Superiore.
Taste: warm with a full body, perfect acidity and a pleasant, long aftertaste of dark red fruits.
Alcohol content: 13.5%.
