Luigi Einaudi

Luigi Einaudi

The history of the "Poderi Luigi Einaudi" begins in 1897, when Luigi Einaudi, only twenty-three years old, not far from the city of Dogliani bought the Cascina "San Giacomo".

Parallel to his educational and political career, it seems that even as president of the Republic of Luigi Einaudi manages to establish a business model for that time: one hundred hectares, twenty of which are planted with vines, built almost from scratch. A story that, thanks to the interest of one of his sons - the only one who has a strong bond with his country of origin - has evolved over the years and that today has been handed over to his nephew, Matteo Sardagna.

Today, the wine-growing area is more than fifty hectares, for conventional agronomic management entrusted to the management of Giampiero Romana. In the cellar, under the oenological signature of Lorenzo Raimondi, labels are produced on the basis of a firm conviction: a great wine can only come from a great vineyard and a great terroir.

During the winemaking and refining phase, the many points of attention and close monitoring were carried out for each production step aimed at the pursuit of a main objective: to improve and glorify, through the work of man, what nature has created. Then we find Dolcetto "Vigna Tecc", Barolo "Cannubi" and Barolo "Vigna Costa Grimaldi", followed by Barbaresco, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Pinot Grigio and all the others. Red, white and rosés, included among the best Italian wines, for a winery, that of Poderi Luigi Einaudi, able to tell not only the territory of Dogliani, thanks to his Dolcetto, but is able to tell story count in general about the oenological excellence of the Langhe, thanks to the many plots corresponding to some of the most prestigious cru belonging to the names of Barolo and Barbaresco. A production of great class, able to combine tradition and contemporaneity as few others can do today.
